The real estate market is back in most of the country right now and it is having a profound effect to the New Braunfels and Canyon Lake area. Home owners in Florida, California, the Midwest states and other areas could not sell their homes during the market melt down. During this period, many wanted to move to the booming New Braunfels and San Antonio area for better weather, cost of living and job opportunities.
How things have changed. It is being seen across the board and especially in the custom home market. Many of the hill country communities with acreage around the New Braunfels and Canyon Lake area suddenly are booming. Communities such as Vintage Oaks, Havenwood, Copperridge, Mystic Shores and others are now alive with new construction of beautiful custom homes. Many buyers are wanting the peaceful setting of the hill country but still being close to HEB, hospitals and airports. Buyers are also loving the opportunty to design and customize their home like no others.
The New Braunfels and Canyon Lake area is unique with water features hard to find in Texas. New Braunfels has a culture of activities throughout the year to enjoy. The oldest bakery in Texas can be found there as well as many other historial features. Being less than an hour away from Austin and San Antonio also is a plus.
Home values are still reasonable but rising. You can still get a 2,500 square foot custom home on an acre for around the 400K range in the New Braunfels area. Acreage in the Canyon Lake area can normally be found at a more reasonable price that can help bring the price down.
My phone keeps ringing from buyers from all over the country wanting to come to the New Braunfels area. It feels like a mini “gold rush” these days in my world. The drought is finally over and the land grab is back.
